Before and after comparison showing messy pebbles vs clean stepping stones after applying TerraTight Ease

If you have a pebble walkway, garden path, or gravel-filled backyard, you probably know the frustration: pebbles end up everywhere except where they should be. They scatter onto stepping stones, wash away in the rain, and create a constant mess.

TerraTight Ease is a water-based acrylic resin that solves this problem. You simply spray it on, let it cure, and your pebbles stay locked in place — no special tools, no professional skills required. Here is a quick guide on how to use it.

The common problem: pebbles scattered across your stepping stones after foot traffic and weather.

What You Will Need

  • TerraTight Ease — concentrated formula that can be diluted 1:2 with water for wider coverage
  • A spray bottle or garden pump sprayer (a free spray bottle is included with the product)
  • A broom or leaf blower for surface prep
  • Two full days of dry, calm weather ahead

Step 1: Clean the Area

Before applying TerraTight Ease, make sure the surface is clean and dry. Sweep or blow away any debris, leaves, or dirt sitting on top of the pebbles. The resin bonds best when it can reach the stones directly without anything in the way.

Step 2: Shake and Spray

Give the bottle a good shake. You can use it at full concentration for maximum bonding strength, or dilute it 1:2 with water if you want to stretch the coverage — one 2L bottle covers a large area when diluted.

Pour it into a spray bottle and spray evenly over the pebble or gravel area. Hold the nozzle about 20–30 cm above the surface and work in slow, overlapping passes so every stone gets coated. You want the resin to seep down between the pebbles, not just sit on top.

A note on colour: When you first spray TerraTight Ease, the liquid has a milky, slightly blue-white appearance. This is completely normal and nothing to worry about. Once it cures (about 24 hours), the resin becomes virtually invisible — clear and transparent. Many first-time users are surprised by the initial colour, but trust the process: it dries crystal clear.

Step 3: Do Not Touch It — Seriously

This is the most important step, and the one most people get wrong.

After spraying, leave the area completely undisturbed for a full 48 hours (two days). That means:

  • No walking on the treated area
  • No touching or testing whether the pebbles are bonded yet
  • No watering plants nearby — avoid any water contact
  • No rain — check your weather forecast before you start
  • No wind-blown sand or debris landing on the surface — shield the area if possible

We cannot stress this enough. The most common complaint we hear is “the resin did not work” — and almost every time, the person stepped on it or disturbed it before it fully cured. The resin needs time to form a strong, permanent bond. Rushing this step is the number one reason for failure.

Curing Timeline
  • 3–4 hours: Initial set — surface feels tacky but is not ready
  • 24 hours: Light use possible, resin turns fully transparent
  • 48 hours (2 days): Full cure — you can now walk on it normally

Be patient. Two days of leaving it alone gives you years of pebbles staying exactly where they belong.

Step 4: Enjoy the Results

Once fully cured, your pebbles are firmly locked in place. No more stones scattered across your stepping stones, no more gravel washing into the grass. The surface looks completely natural — TerraTight Ease dries clear, so you will not even notice it is there.

Tips for Best Results

  • Check the weather. You need two full days of dry, calm conditions after application. No rain, no strong wind.
  • Do not over-spray. A thin, even coat works better than flooding the area. Excess pooling can leave a visible film.
  • Temperature matters. Best results between 15 °C and 35 °C. Avoid applying in extreme heat or cold.
  • Second coat for heavy traffic. For areas with regular foot traffic, apply a second coat after the first one has dried (wait at least 4 hours between coats).
  • Patience is everything. The 48-hour rule is not optional. Do not test the bond early — just wait.

Where to Use TerraTight Ease

  • Garden walkways and stepping stone paths
  • Pebble-filled flower beds and borders
  • Gravel driveways (light vehicle traffic)
  • Decorative rock features
  • Playground gravel areas
  • Around pool decks and patios
